Chronicles of the Wayward Moot

WELCOME TO THE MOOT, oh world-wanderers and word-whisperers. After two years of Peace Corps. After 2,200 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail. What. Comes. Next?

Gringos in the mist.... one of the ancient crumbling walls with my two Guayaquileño amigos in the background.

Old portal between rooms. They must have used organic materials for roofing..it was clear that they never dveloped the skills to do stone archways...

Ridge walking is a joy, even more so when you can imagine that the drop is longer and steeper than it really is. This one was however really long and really steep, according to the map.

More fun with creepy crawlies. All the locals tell me that I should feel lucky to be alive after they see this photo. Apparently these things are super poisonous and inject their toxin with their feet. Sounds like baloney to me. Then again, I'm just the coo coo gringo.

The "Intrepid Travelers" return to the 4x4 wetter and colder but none the worse for wear. Had to borrow that term from Tom Wolfe's Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test. What a crazy book.
