Chronicles of the Wayward Moot

WELCOME TO THE MOOT, oh world-wanderers and word-whisperers. After two years of Peace Corps. After 2,200 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail. What. Comes. Next?

Trailside bouquet hiking up from Marten Lake the next morning pre-sunrise.

Land of the Lorax? Who speaks for the TREES, man?

Golden-mantled ground squirrel checking us out in the Marble Mountain Wilderness.

Yak hikes ahead on the way to Buckhorn Spring, near a giant three-pronged tree with a fantastic campsite...which we opted not to stay at in favor of climbing to Buckhorn Mountain's rocky summit and cowboy camping with a forest fire for a night light.

And there's the night light. The largest cluster of flames on the left had three points like a creepy Indiana Jones temple skull, but the little Canon Powershot couldn't focus well enough to really capture it.
