Chronicles of the Wayward Moot

WELCOME TO THE MOOT, oh world-wanderers and word-whisperers. After two years of Peace Corps. After 2,200 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail. What. Comes. Next?

Scrumptiousness for lunch in my site. Fried shrimp over ride with platano disks, a shrimp and onion ceviche, and fresh fresh fresh juice made with pineapple and oranges. w00t!!!!!

An old colonial-type church in a nearby town. Original painting still on the ceiling. I don´t like churches much but this place was fascinating.

The view from the apartment I´m hoping to move into. It has hot showers and everything. That´s nuts. Like really really unheard of absurd nuts. I feel so fortunate.

One of the many local scenes in the Parque Central on Palm Sunday. Old farts and little squirts enjoy the same activity...sitting around not doin nuthin at all!

In the hills surrounding my site they make aguardiente, a liquor/rotgut made form fresh sugar cane squeezins. This is what it looks like before they boil it and essentially distill it into little gasoline cans or filthy plastic jugs. Reminds me of the ooze from that Who Framed Roger Rabbit movie. Probably tastes worse. Can´t wait to try it.
