Chronicles of the Wayward Moot

WELCOME TO THE MOOT, oh world-wanderers and word-whisperers. After two years of Peace Corps. After 2,200 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail. What. Comes. Next?

One last picture from the day visit to Guanazán. Here´s a lovely sieran woman and her daughter or granddaughter. I met them on the ranchera going back down towards Zaruma but they got off before we left the high altitude stuff. She was spinning yarn from some sheep´s wool, pretty cool. The new volunteer that is going up there will most likely be helping implement a new program for the raising of sheep, so this woman might meet and even work with him/her. That´s teh sacred mountain of Paltacalo in the background again. It has a neat shape, like a giant wedge of cheese transformed into mountainside.

View of sunset from the TeleferiQo in Quito. That´s the light reflecting in the snows of Volcan Cayambe! Maybe I'll get to climb it this year. Only place in the world where the degrees in latitude and temperature are zero!

Yeah yeah, here are the two goofballs trying to shake off the crust of 12-13 hours on the bus up to the sierran capital city of Ecuador...

Droopy eye. Wonder why. As I recall I was feeling rather fly.

Peace out, until the next time.
