Chronicles of the Wayward Moot

WELCOME TO THE MOOT, oh world-wanderers and word-whisperers. After two years of Peace Corps. After 2,200 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail. What. Comes. Next?

View frommy rooftop of late. It´s the rainy season, as you've read, and so the hillsand valleys are green green green. Much more vibrantwhen the sun hits thegrass directly, but we take what we can get these days. Nice to get a day without any precipitation...

Random beetle on the wall in the tourism office. Really strangely shaped shell, eh? Kinda like those forward-sweeping wings on the experimental jet planes they were building in the 70s.

Three Zaruman big-wig women (high level posts in the local government) on the International Day of the Woman (Día de la Mujer) a little while back. They were treated to live music, poetry, and as you can see, some red roses...

Another pic of the incredible hummingbirds at the Buenaventura Reserve... I hope this isn't the exact same photo I already posted...

And heres a shot of one of the little exotic cloud forest frogs that I came across duringamorning of solo hiking in the reserve. Also saw an armadillo, a woodpecker, and a bunch of gorgeous blue-green cicadas, along with the mosquitoes. Loooking forward to going back and starting to work with the director and the employees.
