The medium sized entrants...

And one of the biggest competitors.

Early December is also the time when Ecuador's Capital City, Quito, has it's big fiestas. I was up there to replace a stolen cell phone and so lucked out in learning that part of the festivities is a series of bullfights. Sweeeeet! I'm not one for gratuitous violence, but this was a cultural event that I didn't want to miss if given the chance to witness. Here's a volunteer friend (Let's give her an animal name to0 ... Alligator) who went with me. We learned that the traditional thing to do while watching these spectacles is to drink cheap boxed wine or beer and eat empanadas se morocho. So we did.

The pomp, the circumstance... the HEAT of those costumes!?!?
