Chronicles of the Wayward Moot

WELCOME TO THE MOOT, oh world-wanderers and word-whisperers. After two years of Peace Corps. After 2,200 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail. What. Comes. Next?

That's all the time I have to upload for now. Next photo stop: The Galapagos Islands...

Today I received an e-mail from a man in Zaruma telling me that people are seeing a flying saucer ("platillo volador") in Cerro de Arcos. The flying saucer goes inside a waterfall. Perhaps he told me this to encourage me to send tourists to Zaruma. Around November 2007, I heard a myth that people are sucked up into the sky at Cerro de Arcos. When I saw your mid-air jumping photos taken at Cerro de Arcos, I wondered if your photos started this myth.

It is sad that you have left Ecuador; I had been enjoying it vicariously through you. I hope you return to Zaruma someday.
