Chronicles of the Wayward Moot

WELCOME TO THE MOOT, oh world-wanderers and word-whisperers. After two years of Peace Corps. After 2,200 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail. What. Comes. Next?

Second attempt to upload these photos... unfortunately as far as I can tell the two videos I uploaded last night didn't work. Will try again if I get the chance. Please keep the comment(s) coming as they keep me going. Well that and the fact that the weather in the upcoming Mojave section is getting hotter and hotter...

Sign not far from the border warning illegal immigrants about the dangers of cross country travel and advising that it's NOT WORTH IT! Hmm, the picture shows a drowning person but the canyon below had nary a drop of water.

B.A.P. I think y'all can guess what that stands for. In the hills or high desert there are huge stands of pines. I think these come from Jeffrey Pines. Enormous.

One view from the first week before we wised up and stopped hiking during the middle of the day. Now the day starts around 5:30 and ends at maybe 7:30 or 8pm.

Seeing if those free umbrellas from the kickoff party really can save us from the desert sun. Yup, they do the trick if it's not too windy.

Disgruntled rattlesnake rattling its warning. I met another one a few days later while hiking alone. Could hear it for sure but couldn't see a thing. Kind of scary.
