Chronicles of the Wayward Moot

WELCOME TO THE MOOT, oh world-wanderers and word-whisperers. After two years of Peace Corps. After 2,200 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail. What. Comes. Next?

Whipping up a little mashed potatoes with real bacon on the edge of the world.

Da moon he be wiley tonight, sho is.

Hanging out in a crack at the top of one of the most famous rocks in the world with fellow world travelers and adventure seekers. That's me in the background clutching a heavy bottle of champagne that a wonderful German woman had with her. I contributed some citrus vodka that I found (really) on the stone steps before the cables began. We spoke of many things including yeti encounters, UFOs (OVNIs), and Monty Python while scanning the skies for shooting stars.

Rambunctiously celebrating the survival of another incredible night. Yep, that's the same 4,800 foot drop as before.

The Half Dome 4th of July Krewe keepin it real as the shadow of the monolith looms up over Yosemite Valley. Strangely enough, I was the only thru-hiker up there that night even though I knew tons of other hikers were in the Tuolumne area...
