Chronicles of the Wayward Moot

WELCOME TO THE MOOT, oh world-wanderers and word-whisperers. After two years of Peace Corps. After 2,200 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail. What. Comes. Next?

As has been evident of late, the terrain here is volcanic. We're about to see just how volcanic it is. Here's a side-trip waterfall cascading down an old lava flow.

And HERE is Cinder Cone, a 700 foot tall volcanic cone much like those still active in Hawaii where the lava sprays and shoots high into the air. This thing last erupted 400 years ago or so.

Approaching the cone as the light of the sun bends around the curves of sandy and cinders.

Light and color and shape meeting for a show tonight.

Tenacious Tree. I admire this little guy.
