Chronicles of the Wayward Moot

WELCOME TO THE MOOT, oh world-wanderers and word-whisperers. After two years of Peace Corps. After 2,200 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail. What. Comes. Next?

Before hitting up the previously shown island mud pit I found a spot right on the side of a cold creek where hot water boils up through the rocks from below. Invigorating and impossible to describe in words. You just have to go there and see it yourself.

Later, after dark in the mud pool with "Wizard Island." Also 109 degrees!

Hiking down the meadow in the early morning anticipating breakfast at the famous Drakesbad Guest Ranch, a swanky establishment that has been operating and hosting the rugged-minded for more than a century. Lots of history, lots of high quality food, beautiful surroundings...

And yet another sign that I was on the right path.

Yak thought it prudent to snag a fat ground squirrel during breakfast.
