Chronicles of the Wayward Moot

WELCOME TO THE MOOT, oh world-wanderers and word-whisperers. After two years of Peace Corps. After 2,200 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail. What. Comes. Next?

25 Aug 2008

Okay, photo cleanup time. Here I am with Yak and Chick Magnet at the Hiker Hideaway Treehouse "in progress" back in Old Station. Maybe one day little Firefly will approve of it's "done-ness." As for me, it had electrical plugs and a place to watch movies. What else does a hiker need? Well maybe a fridge...

SECRET CAVERN ALERT!!!

Yes hikers, the famous Subway Cave in Old Station has more to explore than just the 1/3 mile of open-to-the-public passage. Here's proof. The three of us found an opening to even more of the Devil's Subway... must have walked perhaps 20 minutes and the black hole never even ended. I think it goes for miles... I want to go back and camp in it.

Vandalized wall near the entrance to the other section. (I did not do this fyi.)

We are not alone out here y'all.

A visual explanation of the VORTEX that Yak and I were caught in for the better part of two weeks. So yeah, when you other hikers start wondering where in the heck we were and why we're only in Etna on August 25th, this should help clear things up.
