Chronicles of the Wayward Moot

WELCOME TO THE MOOT, oh world-wanderers and word-whisperers. After two years of Peace Corps. After 2,200 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail. What. Comes. Next?

Shadow play before descending to make a camp in the blast rubble of scoria.

Yak and his broken kite.

To best see this time lapse photo of the crater's rim from camp with the Big Dipper dipping around the sky, you might want to turn off the lights in your room.

In the morning as the sun came up and poured into the crater the contrast blew out any photo I tried to take. Kinda looks like Yak is standing on the edge of the sun or something.

And finally, a shot that gives you a good idea of where we slept. Right where our shadows fall at the bottom of the bowl is where we put our sleeping bags. (And hoped for no renewed volcanic activity)
