Chronicles of the Wayward Moot

WELCOME TO THE MOOT, oh world-wanderers and word-whisperers. After two years of Peace Corps. After 2,200 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail. What. Comes. Next?

This one is for my brother who said that I HAD to go to this cafe. Well amigo, here's the proof! Note the bandanna with a map of the trail's 3 states. We're right south of the border with Oregon at this point.

Another good thing about being WAYYYY behind the hiker pack is that we got into Seiad Valley for Labor Day weekend, which is, lo and behold, the weekend that nearby Happy Camp (For real, there's a place called Happy Camp and people really live there) throws its annual BIGFOOT JAMBOREE! WOO HOOOO! So off we went hitching a ride with a lady and her daughter in a minivan to attend the Bigfoot Jamboree. Sadly, trail celebrity Squatch was nowhere to be seen. Perhaps he attended a previous year? Check out all these damned Bigfoots (Bigfeet?) that we encountered in Happy Camp...

Hey Nonny Nonny the Lassen Volcanic Crater Whale makes a cameo appearance here. That's one BIG Bigfoot!

Even the Post Office got in on the fun.
