Chronicles of the Wayward Moot

WELCOME TO THE MOOT, oh world-wanderers and word-whisperers. After two years of Peace Corps. After 2,200 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail. What. Comes. Next?

After descending from Indian Canyon my adventurous host took me to some secret caves that can be found RIGHT OFF the side of one of Yosemite Valley's most popular trails. We went in one way and without lights proceeded to descend and crawl and squirm through stone wormholes in the pitch black until eventually coming out the other end. Further exploring revealed many more passages and labyrinthine places to explore, pinnacles to top out on, and not-so-ancient rubbish from good times past.

In the cave with nary but a camera flash to illuminate the blackness.

Crater Whale getting in on some dayhike action.

Just one of the day's many highlight was this sighting of a b--- a b----, a FREAKING BOOOOOOOBCAAAAAAAAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How flipping sweet is this?!?!?!? Zoom in, zoom in, it's so pretty, it's so majestic! It's so possible to interpret this as a sign ... or a coincidence, but seriously, who cares why we saw it, it was exciting as heck!

Wrow WROOW!
