Geometry in nature.


Check out the trail in the upper right corner of this photo. That dark speck on the trail is Kingfisher. Scale scale scale unimaginable. This is just a tiny tributary canyon off the side of the main one.


Look to the lower left of this column's base. That's me. Better click on it for a closer view. We camped near here.


These are some of the "Vishnu basement rocks" making up some of the deepest layers of the Grand Canyon stratigraphy. They were formed before the first plants ever even existed. Just try to comprehend that. Before the first tree. The first tree came so long after this rock was formed that it's pretty much impossible to even comprehend.


No. You are not going swimming in the Colorado. Yes, I know that you can hold your breath for a long time but just look at those rapids! Not gonna happen. Quit sulking. Oh seriously? You saw a raft go by and so you think you can go too? Keep dreaming, whale, keep dreaming.
