Chronicles of the Wayward Moot

WELCOME TO THE MOOT, oh world-wanderers and word-whisperers. After two years of Peace Corps. After 2,200 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail. What. Comes. Next?

Ocotillo cactus-tree and the moon just doing their thing.

The mornings are nice though. This is the best time in the desert, light enough to see your surroundings but still cool enough to be comfortable.

Boom, on to the next adventure. Kingfisher and I zipped south to Phoenix for a weekend of (more) camping with her older brother and his friends. Total change of scenery. Total change of culture. We learned what a "toy hauler" was. We also learned that camping on the outskirts of Phoenix does not lend itself to clear night skies with unlimited stargazing. Phoenix, as you can see, puts out a lot of light pollution.

Getting towards the end of our hike. A little bit farther back. Could you maybe take a few steps back please?
