Chronicles of the Wayward Moot

WELCOME TO THE MOOT, oh world-wanderers and word-whisperers. After two years of Peace Corps. After 2,200 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail. What. Comes. Next?

Prior to the advent of brain, there was no color and no sound in the universe, nor was there any flavor or aroma and probably rather little sense and no feeling or emotion. Before brains the universe was also free of pain and anxiety.

Roger Sperry (1913-1994)

Think about this.  If we can pretend for a moment that life as we know it has only arisen once, here on planet Earth, then the rock layers I hiked among in the Grand Canyon were formed before "color" and "sound" and "pain" even existed, for those concepts have meaning only in the context of perception.  Without an agent of perception they have no meaning and essentially cannot exist.

Better yet, don't think about it.  Could interfere with the life-lie that lets you keep "up" up and "down" down, etc..

indeed, if not thinking is better than thinking, then it serves to reason (ironically) that no brain is better than yes brain.
